STAR STORY: SOUTHERN SUDANESE GET READY TO DETERMINE YOUR OWN FUTURE! 

"You can now vote from your host country on January 9th 2011" 

 

Yes my fellow Junubin, the rumours are true! Under the plea of the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission, The international Organization for Immigration (IOM) have set up Out-of-Country registration and Voting (OCRV) offices, in 8 countries; (Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Australia, Canada, USA and the UK), for the long awaited January 9th referendum. Yes, this means that all eligible Southern Sudanese in diaspora will also be able to vote for either 'Succession' or 'Unity'!

 Along with this once in a life-time opportunity to vote, paid key jobs ranging from 'Office manager, Registration and polling staff" to "Security staff" were  made available to Southern Sudanese applicants. Rumour has it that on the interview day, as many as 85 applicants were called for  selective formal interviews!!!!!!

So my fellow Junubin....the time has come! No one can afford to play dumb or stay ignorant! We all know the turbulent and toxic history of Sudan as a nation, and the complex politics put in place by the 'oh-so-scared' 2005 CPA. The future is a merely a stones throw away! So for the avid debaters, bleeding heart liberals, radical activists and so forth, the time to act is now! It's time to put in "the full 80% into the last 20%". This is a time to be proactive and persistent, a time to lead by example and inform not only the world and 'Mr Obama' of the hurdles we will undoubtedly face the closer we get to victory, but a time to literally inform and persuade your Southern Sudanese neighbours to register and vote, for this could be the difference between a majority and a minority vote!

Whether you are a Separatist or a Unionist....make an informed decision and place your vote because it matters! The OCVR office will contact and inform the Southern Sudanese community in each of the 8 countries with more information on the full voting procedures. The UK office, based in London, Victoria, will begin the registration process from the 15th November 2010-1st December 2010, and Polling will begin at the same location on 9th January 2011 to 15th January.

STAR STORY: EMMANUEL JAL HITS THE SILVER SCREEN!

The multitalented and charismatic "War Child", Emmanuel jal has just featured in his first blockbuster film 'Africa United', directed by Debs Gardner-Paterson! As if being a rapper, song-writer, activist and entrepreneur isn't enough...Emmanuel Jal has officially just earned his fifth stripe by adding acting to his vast and ever growing repertoire! There's no stopping him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The highly anticipated film, set for release in UK cinema's on October 22nd tells the tale of three Rwandan children who set off on a whirlwind and breathtaking adventure in pursuit of their dream to be at the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their 3,000 mile journey leads them through the heart of East Africa where they encounter all warts of life from making new friends and narrowly escaping the clinches of dangerous wild animals, to meeting trigger happy thugs Egg and his evil companion Tulu...our very own Emmanuel Jal! 

This uplifting and emotive film defied conventional, 'safe',  Hollywood methods by casting a team of inexperienced actors from 5 countries...Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa and England......best decision ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this film! All the reviews and press I've read so far has been so positive!

I'm so upset I missed my opportunity to go to the Premier!...believe it when i say I'll be one of the first to watch it in the Cinema on the 22nd October,  with a beast-size portion of toffee covered popcorn and ice-cold coca-cola!

DEAR MR PRESIDENT

While Emmanuel Jal, Southern Sudan's biggest international artist was in Washington DC for his exclusive show this October 2010, he teamed up with the inspirational Simon Deng...who marched all the way from New York City.... and fellow Southern Sudanese at a rally outside Congress to make noise and raise awareness about the injustices and looming referendum in Southern Sudan.

They took their fight to the front gates of the White House.
