YABA ANGELOSI
Forgive me..I've never met the guy personally but according to his Myspace and my Junub confidant, Yaba Angelosi, a Southern Sudanese producer, lyricist and artist, best known for his hit song "Banat ta Sudan", is not only the rising star of the South, but also an optimistic, conscientious, patriot , who's flying the flag of Southern Sudan high in the air!
His laid-back vocals, simple harmonies, memorable melodies, meshed with head-nodding African beats is only accentuated by his 'PG,' heartwarming lyrics! His proficient use, and somewhat familiar use of "Arabi Juba" in every song takes me back to the days when I ate Foul Massirr, Jibna and Esh for breakfast, while seated under a mango tree in the heat of the mid morning sun!
Yes ladies, despite the name Yaba, he's apparently "Young, single, faithful, and of course "6ft 2", dark and handsome, not to mention honest! He openly lists his annual income as "Less than £30,000"! Guy's...Yes he does lists ESPN as one of is favourite past times!
Of all the wanna-be South Sudanese 'artists' on Youtube Yaba Angelosi seems to be part of the small handful who take pride in their work and don't do things by halves! His passion for music and for his people seems to be evident in every song he's released! This talented gentleman seems to be on a self proclaimed mission to entertain but above all remind Southern Sudanese of our phlight from home!
Check out his new video "Time to vote", intended to raise awareness and motivate Junubin to be proactive and conciouse of the looming referendum deadline!

AYAK THIIK
Once musically tied to Emmanuel Jal..this Dinka Diva has officially stamped her name in the Cush Music Hall of Fame by becoming the first Southern Sudanese artist ever....to have a song she co-wrote and sang on enter the official UK TOP chart at number 10, "In My System" with Tinchy Stryder, and to have a song she co-wrote for Chipmunk, "Until you were gone", reach number 3 official UK Singles chart...both in 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Formerly signed to Polydor Germany, Ayak has toured and worked alongside several artists including Talib Kwali, 50 cent and Melanie C from the Spice girls!!!! Her love of music, self-belief and perseverance has recently led her to work closely with massive German Dj's Milk and Sugar, let alone landing her a publishing deal with Sony allowing her to collaborate with major artists like Kelly Rowland and JLS!
