I had an epiphany...exactly 82 days, 4 hours and 32 minutes away from the Southern Sudanese referendum! As I sat there hands rested on jaws, aimlessly browsing YouTube for interesting Southern Sudanese music an idea sprang to mind! Why not start a blog that brings together all Southern Sudanese music and musicians to one accessible site! Seriously...Why not!!!!!!
What better time to promote and celebrate Southern Sudanese music and artists.....in the words of Shakespeare..."If music be the food of love, play on"! As highlighted by Richard Ashcroft "Music is power". As pointed out by Bob Marley..."One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain".
From being a means of communication, therapy, escapism and self expression, to being an arbitrary subjective source of all things positive and negative...you name it! Music is the soundtrack to life! It has the emotive power to revolutionise societies, generations and individuals! It has the power to change and the ability to drive individuals to infinite possibilities!!!!!! Music is a weapon of mass destruction and construction...with enough ammunition to detonate and burn down barriers in the hearts and minds of nations!
Music is my passion, Southern Sudanese are my people...so what better way than to get the best of both worlds! I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I'll enjoy writing it!
